Students will access course information by clicking on Modules and/or Assignments.  Students will need their student number and password for NCEdcloud. If you have questions about the student login, please email me.

PARENTS:  Use the following directions to create a Canvas Observer Account

  • Have your student(s) Generate a Pairing Code (this will be different for each student).
  • Go to https://fcschools.instructure.com/login/canvas (bookmark this site so that you can easily access your Observer dashboard for your student(s).
  • Click on Parent of a Canvas User? in the upper right-hand corner of the window.
  • Complete the required information in the window, which will include inputting the student Pairing Code. Multiple students can be added.
  • Go to the Dashboard to see your student(s)' courses.
  • Parents can sign into this account to easily access their student's courses within Canvas.
  • What can parents view as an Observer?

Understand Principles of Business - Module 1

Description:

Course Objectives: Understand the purpose and the functions of business. Compare the main types of business organization: sole proprietorship, partnership, corporation, and franchise. Classify businesses as profit-making or non-profit-making; and service, product or combination.

Understand the Concept of Entrepreneurship - Module 3

Description:

Course Objectives: Learn the personal characteristics and skills needed for a successful entrepreneur. Understand entrepreneurship and the entrepreneurial process. Understand the procedures and requirements for starting a business.

WEEK 1- Welcome Back to School!!!  Introductions, School Expectations, Class Procedures, Drills and Acceptable Use Policy.

WEEK 2- This week we will begin working in Module 1 in our Standard Course of Study.  We start by asking a simple question: Why do people start businesses?

WEEK 3- This week we will continue working in Module 1 in our Standard Course of Study.  We will also learn the Purposes and Functions of a Business.

WEEK 4- As we continue working in Module 1 in our Standard Course of Study, we will understand the importance of profit, consumers, and competition in starting a business.

WEEK 5- This week in Module 1 in our Standard Course of Study, we will learn about the various Types of Businesses (Sole Proprietorship, Partnership, Corporation, & Franchise).

WEEK 6- As we continue working in Module 1, we will learn about Profit and Non-Profit Businesses.

WEEK 7- This week in Module 1, we will learn about the difference between a Product Business and a Service Business.

WEEK 8- This week our students will learn how to distinguish the different Classifications of Businesses.

WEEK 9- Next week, our class will learn how to create a Business Card using Microsoft's Publisher Software.

WEEK 10- This week we will begin working in Module 3 in our Standard Course of Study.  We start by asking a simple question: What are Characteristics of a Successful Entrepreneur?

WEEK 11- This week our students will learn the (5) Stages of the Entrepreneurial Process (Discovery, Concept Development, Resourcing, Actualization & Harvesting).

WEEK 12- As we continue working in Module 3, we will learn more details about the Discovery Stage of the Entrepreneurial Process.

WEEK 13- This upcoming week our class will explore the importance of a Business Plan as it relates to the success of an Entrepreneur.

WEEK 14- As we continue working in Module 3, we will learn the various Skills of Successful Entrepreneurs.

WEEK 15- This week our students will be exploring the Steps for Starting a Business.
