Mission, Goals, and Objectives Mission - Develop citizens of character dedicated to serving their nation and community.  Goals - to instill values of citizenship, give service to the United States, develop personal responsibility, and instill a sense of accomplishment in high school students.  Objective - to educate and train high school cadets in citizenship; promote community service; instill responsibility, character, and self-discipline; and provide instruction in air and space fundamentals.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: 

Aerospace Science 100: Milestones in Aviation History – We will study Chapter 1 (Exploring Flight), Chapter 2 (Developing Flight), Chapter 3 (The Evolution of the Early Air Force),  Chapter 4 (Commercial and General Aviation Take Off), Chapter 5 (The USAF is Born) and Chapter 6 (The Modern Air Force).   

Leadership Education 100: Citizenship, Character, and Air Force Tradition; Drill and Ceremonies  – We will study Chapter 1 (Introduction to JROTC Programs) Chapter 2 (Personal Behavior),  Chapter 3 (Be Health Smart) and Chapter 6, Lesson 1 (The American Flag and Other National Symbols).  Finally, students will learn individual and flight drill. 

Wellness Program: Physical Training - We will conduct a physical fitness test at the beginning of the semester.  We will do physical conditioning and play sports to improve your physical fitness and reassess at the end of the semester to measure your improvement.  A health assessment form must be filled out and signed by you and your parents/guardians before beginning the program. 

 UNIFORM DAY: WEDNESDAY.  Wear the prescribed uniform once a week, as directed by the AFJROTC instructors.  This will normally be short sleeve shirt (tie/tie tab optional) and blue pants.  The instructors will cover the proper wear and grooming standards in class.  If you cannot wear it on Wednesday for any reason (absent, field trip, school sports team, etc.) you must make it up on another day.

COURSE EVALUATION:

Aerospace Science 100: Milestones in Aviation History - Homework and classroom assignments will be graded and averaged to calculate your homework grade, which will account for 10% of your total grade.    All chapter tests will be graded and averaged to calculate your test average, which will account for 30% of your total grade. In total, the academic portion will account for 40% of your grade.  

Leadership Education 100: Citizenship, Character, and Air Force Tradition; Drill and Ceremonies-

Quizzes, classroom and homework assignments will account for 10% of your total grade.  Uniform wear/inspection will account for 30% of your grade.   This leadership grade will count 40% of your grade.

Wellness Program

Grades are derived from participation (10%) and wearing the required PT uniform (10%) for class on Fridays.   The wellness grade will count 20% of your total grade.

  • Be Productive
    • Pay attention in class
    • Ask questions about the class or related subject
  • Be Prompt
    • On time for class (National Anthem and Pledge)
    • Turn in assignments on time
    • Use the proper doors
  • Be Polite
    • Address the SASI as Major or Sir
    • Address the ASI as Sergeant or MSgt Goodine
    • Respect your fellow student and other teachers
    • Pay proper respect to the American Flag
    • Come to attention when special guests (Principal, Superintendent, etc.) enter the room
  • Be Prepared
    • Have all need materials for class (books, writing materials & uniform)
    • Use the bathroom before class
