CLASSROOM RULES

1. BE ON TIME - arrive to class on time

2. BE PREPARED - have all necessary materials - this includes any assignments that are DUE

3. BE PRODUCTIVE - make good use of your class time - work on your assignments, ask questions

4. BE RESPECTFUL AT ALL TIMES - of the teacher and your classmates

CLASSWORK/HOMEWORK

You will receive classwork/homework daily. These assignments will be based on the current material or a review of the previously covered material. Students are expected to complete these assignments by the due date. Late assignments will not be accepted without prior permission from the teacher. As I am human and sometimes make mistakes - requests to submit an assignment after the due date should be submitted via e-mail (megansparks@fcschools.net) All assignments should be completed with the student's first and last name and core number.

LATE/ABSENT WORK

Late assignments will not be accepted without prior permission from the teacher. Requests for late submissions should be submitted to me via e-mail (megansparks@fcschools.net). If you are absent you are permitted 2 days from the date you return to class to submit all missing assignments. (i.e. If you are out on Monday your work will be due Thursday)

GRADING

Your grade is calculated as follows:

40% formative (worksheets, warm-ups, homework, etc)

60% summative (quizzes, tests, projects)

In order to have the best opportunity to succeed in my class, it is vital that you complete all assignments in a timely manner and to the best of your ability.

100-90 - A

89-80 - B

79-70 - C

69-60 - D

59 and below - F

SUPPLIES

Due to the implementation of virtual learning for the first 9 weeks of school, I will be exclusively using Canvas. All assignments will be completed through the Canvas platform. I would highly recommend that students get a notebook/binder so that they are able to write down notes and questions that they may have. Highlighters, pencils, and flashcards would also be useful to students. I will provide vocabulary through Canvas but students may want to study their terms on paper/notecards vs. the computer.
