Students will access course information by clicking on Modules and/or Announcements.  Students will need their student number and password for NCEdcloud.

 Grading Policy: (per 9 Weeks)

  Daily:  20 Points 

Break Down:  5 points – dressing out, 15 points - entire workout (weight room, gym, outside, etc)

             

Dressing out is a requirement for this class.  If the student does not dress out, she will be allowed to participate IF she has the appropriate shoes but with a 5-point reduction in her daily grade. If she does not have the appropriate shoes and/or refuses to participate, she will be sent to Time Out along with receiving a zero for the day.   After two days of not dressing out per 9 weeks, parent contact will be made, three days of not dressing out, a referral will be sent to Administration.

 Grading:  Students will be graded daily on dressing out, participation in the gym (running/exercises), weight room participation and/or work out video participation.  Throughout each 9 weeks, she will be tested on her max in various exercises for improvements in her strength.  Also, at the end of each 9 weeks, she will be tested in the timed mile.

 Final Exam:  This course does not have an EOC exam.  However, a final exam will be given at the end of the semester during the allotted exam times.  Exam exemptions are given for this course.  The course grade will be calculated as follows:

                                       1st 9 weeks (37.5%) + 2nd 9 weeks (37.5%) + Final Exam (25%)

Attendance Policy:  More than 10 days of unexcused absences can result in an FF (failure).  Unexcused absences will result in a 50 for that day. To be excused, a note must be given. I will follow the LMHS tardy policy.  Please show up for class on time.

 Weight Training Rules:

  • Be on time.
  • Dressing out is mandatory.  Bring a change of appropriate shorts/sweatpants, t-shirt and tennis shoes.          
  • The school dress code will apply to weight training.
  • No food or drinks, except water, in the weight room.
  • No cellphone use in the weight room; students can use their cell phones for music when doing cardio (running) or otherwise stated by Coach Wammock.
  • No earbuds/headphones in the weight room

Medical Excuses and Excused Absences:

ALL excused medical notes are required to not dress for weight training.  In the event a student must miss or have class participation modified for more than 2 days due to a medical condition, a written note from a parent or legal guardian is required.  Dated notes, written by the parent/guardian, must include:

 The student’s full name

  • A phone number to reach the parent/guardian
  • The specific limitations of the student
  • A signature

 More than three days on a medical excuse will require a note from a physician, indicating the student's limitation and length of modification. Students will need a medical note with a date stating when she can return to participation.
