Virtual Office hours: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9-10am via Google Meet; students can access links for these hours from either Gmail (Grades 6-12) or their Google Calendar (Grades K-12) sent from their teacher(s).  Paper packets for K-8 students that were distributed for April 6-20 can be found HERE.

Students will access course information by going to https://classroom.google.com/.  Students will need their FCS google account username and password for access.

Classroom Rules:

  1. Actively participate in class each day

  2. Come prepared to class with all required materials
  3. Follow directions
  4. Always do your best

Consequences:

Consequences will be given to students who do not show FMS PBIS expectations.  

Examples:

Verbal warnings, seat changes, parent contact, lunch detention, in school suspension, and/or office referrals.

 

Grading:

  • Tests 40%
  • Quizzes 30%
  • Classwork 25%
  • Homework 5% 

Grade Scale:

A    90-100

B    80-89

C    70-79

D    60-69

F     0-59

Math Curriculum:

Functions

  • Define, evaluate, and compare functions.
  • Use functions to model relationships between quantities.

The Number System

  • Know that there are numbers that are not rational, and approximate them by rational numbers.

Expressions and Equations

  • Work with radicals and integer exponents.
  • Analyze and solve linear equations and inequalities.
  • Analyze and solve pairs of simultaneous linear equations.

Geometry

  • Understand congruence and similarity using physical models, transparencies, or geometry software.
  • Analyze angle relationships.
  • Understand and apply the Pythagorean Theorem.
  • Solve real-world and mathematical problems involving volume of cylinders, cones, and spheres.

Statistics and probability

  • Investigate patterns of association in bivariate data.
