Dear Parents/Guardians,

My name is Sandy McDonald and I would like to welcome your child to fifth grade. You and I will be spending more time with your child in the upcoming school year than any other adult and I am looking forward to getting to know all of you this year. Good communication between parents/guardians, teacher, and student is a very important aspect for your child’s academic growth. I know that each student will achieve much this year in terms of academic growth. I know that each student will achieve much this year in terms of academic growth and greater self-confidence for their next upcoming year of attending middle school. Because of this, I’d like to take the opportunity to tell you a few things about myself—both personally and professionally.

I am a native of Franklin County, in which; I attended Franklin County Schools growing up. I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Barton College in Wilson, North Carolina. I completed a number of practicums at Louisburg Elementary and found this school to be my family home. I have great passion and enthusiasm to learn as well as teach our future generations. I hope to bring out the best in every student that is in my classroom. To be able to bring out the best in every student, I will expect for each student to do their best as they are encouraged along the way.

As stated before, parents/guardians are the most important people in a child’s life, and we need to work together for the benefit of your child. I need you to support my academic and disciple efforts here at Louisburg Elementary. In return, I will keep you informed about all aspects of your child’s experiences at school. With school and home working together, I know that each and every student can have his or her most successful school year yet. I’m looking forward to working with you personally.

Thank you so much for your time and concern in your child’s academic success!!
