                                                                         ELA

During the first nine weeks, students will read many examples of fiction and nonfiction passages and stories while also working on vocabulary development and comprehension skills and strategies.  Students will  learn about story elements (characters, setting, plot, and theme), sequence of events, drawing conclusions, and main idea/supporting details. 

                                                                 Social Studies

During this nine weeks, the students will learn about the state of North Carolina. 

                                                   Important Information

* Progress Reports will be emailed every other week starting on August 6th. 

* Your student will bring home their folder with graded assignments and school wide information, newsletters, etc. at this time, also.

* Please have students underline key words in the questions and clues within the reading passage (when applicable) when doing reading comprehension assignments!!!

* Please have students (when applicable) answer questions in complete sentences!!!
