Course Description
This course engages students in exploring various interior design professions, while building the content knowledge and technical skills necessary to provide a foundational knowledge of the design industry. Emphasis is placed on the interior design process; human, environmental and behavioral factors; color theory, elements and principles of design; hand sketching/digital design techniques, space planning, selection of products and materials for residential interiors; client relationship building and design communication techniques. English/language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, art, and technology are reinforced.

The course is divided into 4 main objectives (listed below). You will be provided a more detailed course outline.

Canvas
All classwork will be assigned, completed, and submitted through Canvas.
Attendance Policy
Students should access the course through Google Meet for live classroom sessions and Canvas.
Course Evaluation - Grading for this course is based on the following:
A: 100-90 B: 89-80 C: 79-70 D: 69-60 F: Below 60 |
Formative (Classwork/Homework/Quizzes)-50% Summative (Tests)- 50% |
Classwork will be assigned daily. All assignments MUST be completed on time as assigned.
Assignments that are turned in after 11:59 pm on the assigned due date will be considered late.
Students will have one additional day to complete the assignment with no late penalty. After that date the assignment will be marked MISSING in PowerSchool. Students that turn in the assignment after that date will receive a 10 point deduction per day and the appropriate grade will be recorded in PowerSchool, but LATE will still be indicated.
There will be a final evaluation for this course. The evaluation counts for 20% of the student’s final course grade.
I have high expectations for all of my students. In this classroom, students will:
- Be prepared (on time) for Google Meet and log onto Canvas.
- Be dressed appropriately for Google Meet.
- Be respectful during Google Meet.
