Welcome to World History. There will be a lot of information  covered in this course, requiring you to work hard, come to class prepared, and to think critically about historical events and issues.  

 

Virtual Classroom Expectations

  1. All FHS rules apply to the virtual classroom.
  2. Be prepared for class!   
  3. Always be respectful of both the teacher and your fellow students.  We will be having classroom discussions, and it is imperative that no opinions of your fellow students be disrespected.  Any profanity or slurs will not be tolerated.
  4. Use proper webcam etiquette when joining live sessions - please look appropriate and don’t be disruptive (example: please don’t be playing video games or texting while a part of the session)
  5. Turning off your webcam and microphone  is okay, but must be able to respond if asked a question/spoken to directly.
  6. Attendance is mandatory and will be counted in a variety of ways (explained below)
  7. Students are expected to communicate with their teacher every day

 

Required Materials

Students must have a chromebook and or electronic device capable of completing assignments and joining live sessions.

 

Grading

Your grade for the marking period will be based on the following weighted scale:

Formative (daily assignments, classwork, exit tickets, etc.) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .40%

Summative (tests, quizzes, projects, etc) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .60%

 

Cheating will result in a zero for the assignment.  Discussing topics with your classmates is fine, but copying of answers will not be tolerated and will result in the notification of both the administration and parents. 

 

Plagiarism will result in a zero for the assignment.  If you have any doubts about how to properly cite references, ask for help!  Any paper turned in which is not one’s own work will be turned in to the administration, while parents will also be notified.  This is not an offense which you want to mess around with!

 

Miscellaneous Policies and Procedures

 

Attendance: Attendance will be taken in 1 of 3 ways:

    1: Complete the daily assignment

    2: Attend a live session

    3: Reply to the daily post on google classroom proving that you’ve seen it

*Disclaimer: Just because you did 1 of the above, does not exempt you from completing the work, it just means you are considered present for the day. You are still expected to complete the daily work by Fridays at 11:59 PM

 

Tutoring:

I will be offering tutoring online from 8am-9am every morning and 2pm-3pm every afternoon. There will also be scheduled times after live sessions if tutoring is needed.

1st Period Tutoring: 9:45am-10:15 am

2nd Period Tutoring: 11:00am-11:15am

3rd Period Tutoring: 12:45pm-1:15pm

4th Period Tutoring: 2:00pm-2:30pm (this is y'all!)
