English & Language Arts:
During this part of the nine weeks, students will read many examples of fictional literature. Students will learn about story elements (characters, setting, plot, and theme), sequence of events, and main idea/supporting details.
During this nine weeks, the students will learn about the history and government of North Carolina.
* If you have not yet done so, please send $7 for the Social Studies Weekly magazines. (Make checks payable to Youngsville Elementary School).
* Progress Reports/Folders will be sent home each week. Please sign and return.
* Students have an agenda to write their homework in each day.
*Please have students underline key words in the questions and clues within the reading passage when doing reading comprehension assignments!!!
*Please have students (when applicable) answer questions in complete sentences!!!
*Reading Log should be filled out and initialed each night. Just click on the link to check to see if a book you have at home is an Accelerated Reader Book and on your child's level. http://www.arbookfind.com/UserType.aspx
