Parents and students:
I am pleased to welcome you to Franklinton High School and to American History II which is a comprehensive look at our founding principles. American History II will begin with the life after Reconstruction and will continue until present day. Students will learn the economics behind the founding of our great country and key concepts from the; Settling of the West, WWI, WWII, Civil Rights and much more. American History II will have an NCFE (North Carolina Final Exam) which will comprise 20% of the final grade; students will be expected to perform at a high level throughout the semester. Because of this we will be need to be focused and begin class with a GREAT ATTITUDE. I will do everything in my power to make the class informative and entertaining in order for the students to fully succeed in American History II and their remaining years at Franklinton High School. If you ever have any questions or concerns about your child’s progress or just want to see how your child is doing please feel free to contact me at anytime.

Pen (Blue or Black) or Pencils
Composition Notebook
Grading Procedures for each Six Weeks: Semester Final Grade:
Test: 50% First Nine Weeks: 40%
Quizzes: 30% Second Nine Weeks: 40%
Homework/Classwork: 20% NCFE - Final Exam 20%
Total: 100% 100%

Students will be required to participate daily in class discussions, group work, individual work and all projects.
DRESS CODE WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED – PLEASE READ THE DRESS CODE IN THE STUDENT HANDBOOK OR ASK A TEACHER OR ADMINSTRATOR IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.
Homework: There will not be very much homework, however all homework must be turned in the next day or you will receive a zero (0).
Missed work: If you miss any days of class YOU will be RESPONSIBLE for getting any materials that were missed and any assignments missed.
Electronic devices are only allowed when permitted by me for educational purposes only.
